Want to be part of change in the world? Music education can be your tool. Intensive ensemble practice can create a community and a sense of belonging often not found at schools. Children at risk of social isolation may be reached through the collective practice of music: its challenges and goal achieving process while maximizing executive functions and building grit. Patricia is all about music! With 15 years experience in production, management and culture, she designs and implements academic programs in social inclusion through music. As former member of the management team of El Sistema (Venezuela’s National Youth Orchestra System), Patricia is passionate about her work with all global Sistema-inspired programs. Using her academic background in Music Production and Engineering and her Master’s Degree in International Relations, she co-founded the Ibero-American Association of Women Music Engineers and Producers. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
